Tajik passport
Tajik passports are issued to citizens of the Republic of Tajikistan to enable them to travel outside of the country. It is international identification of any Tajik citizen any part of world.[1]
Introduction of biometric passport
On February 1, 2010, biometric passports were introduced in Tajikistan; approximately 100,000 blank biometric passports, including 20,000 blank diplomatic biometric passports, 20,000 blank service biometric passports and 60,000 blank ordinary biometric passports, were printed. The Tajik passport had a embedded into the front cover page, in accordance with ICAO standards. The chip and antenna are not easily visually recognizable, but their presence is indicated using the ICAO biometric passport symbol at the bottom of the front cover. [2]
Validity of passport
The ordinary Tajik biometric passport is issued to Tajik citizens for 10 years, while the diplomatic and service biometric passports are issued for 5 years for international travel. [3]
Types
Tajik passport divided into three types which are given below.
Ordinary passport
Service passport
- Issued to all those individual citizens who work for government and have to travel on official business by government.
Diplomatic passport
- Issuable to all those individual citizens who are diplomats Republic of Tajikistan overseas and their family members.
Passport cover
Tajik passports are blue in color, with the words Republic of Tajikistan inscribed on top of the booklet in Russian Language and also inscribed in English Language in bottom. The Tajik coat of arms is prominently emblazoned in the center of the cover page, followed on the bottom by the inscription of the word PASSPORT in Russian and English Language.[4]
